Jefferson Swim League
Team Eligibility and Registration:
Swim team registration is open to Boar’s Head Sports Club members ages 5 – 18 (age as of June 1, 2023). Individual lessons will be available at an additional fee for 4 - 6 year olds. There will also be a mock meet for 5-6 year olds who are not able to qualify for (or choose not to participate in) JSL meets.
The team fee is $295 for the first child in a family, and $250 for each additional child. Fees will be billed to member accounts at time of registration. Team registration includes 10 weeks of practices, 7 meets, one latex team cap, one team t-shirt, and multiple gatherings for swimmers and their families.
The registration deadline is June 13, 2023.
Evaluation Period for 8 and Unders:
Tuesday, May 16, 4 - 6 .p.m.
Thursday, May 18, 4 - 6 p.m.
In order to maintain safe and fun practices, each 8 and under swimmer that is new to the team will have a 10-minute in-water evaluation with coaching staff to determine which practice group best fits the swimmer’s level. Coaches will assess each swimmer’s comfort in the pool and experience with competitive strokes, which will allow each swimmer to be assigned to the practice that provides the appropriate level of challenge.
Swimmers tend to make rapid improvements on the team, but swim team cannot replace beginner swim lessons for those not yet ready to participate in full practices. Beginner swimmers should instead participate in our Learn to Swim program and may join the swim team at a later date once their skills have improved. More information regarding group and private swim lessons will be available at a later date.
