Experience Charlottesville's Premier Fitness Center

Overlooking a beautiful vista, our Charlottesville fitness center offers ellipticals, arc trainers, treadmills, steppers, bikes, free weights, power racks, Precor and TRX equipment. With a professional staff and certified professionals, we are here to assist you in achieving your personal best, no matter your current fitness level. Members and hotel guests have access to nearly 50 weekly fitness classes, and the selection truly has a program for any skill level.

Group Exercise

There are four exercise studios at the Sports Club with choices of more than 70 group exercise classes each week, including Barre, step, interval training strength, water aerobics, yoga, and cycle. All of the classes are administered by certified professionals. Fitness classes are complementary to hotel guests.

Group exercise schedules are available at the front desk or in the fitness area.

If you are attending a group exercise class for the first time please notify the instructor. He or she will help guide you during the first class.

For your safety and the consideration of others, please arrive for classes on time. Registration is required for all classes, and space is limited based on the size of the studio. We aim to have availability for all members and resort guests, so please unregister if you cannot attend.

Gym and Climbing Wall

The gym and climbing wall are additional youth-friendly spaces at the Sports Club. The gym includes a basketball court, pickleball court set-ups and ample recreational space for games and other activities. Balls and other games are available for use.

Personal Training

Personal training is available to guests of all fitness levels. Our dedicated professionals are here to provide tailored expertise to help you reach your goals.

The cost of personal training depends upon the duration of the session and the number of people training at one time. For more information or to make an appointment, please contact our sports club front desk.

There is a 24-hour cancellation policy for personal training sessions.

Teen Fitness

You must be 16 years old to be unaccompanied on the Fitness Floor. All members ages 12-15 must complete a teen training orientation session before using the Fitness Floor. The goal of the orientation session is to acquaint the teen with the room and teach them how to use the equipment properly. Once the orientation session is complete, teens must be accompanied by an adult or personal trainer at all time. Please call our front desk to schedule an appointment with our fitness staff. 

Gymnastics

We offer gymnastic classes and 45-minute and 60-minute private lessons for ages 4-12.

Member pricing per session: $60 for 45 minutes one-on-one, $80 for 60 minutes one-on-one, $90 for 45 minutes semi-private, $120 for 60 minutes semi-private.

Non-Member pricing per session:$75 for 45 minutes one-on-one, $100 for 60 minutes one-on-one, $112.50 for 45 minutes semi-private, $150 for 60 minutes semi-private.

Alexander Technique

The Alexander Technique teaches improved posture and movement to help reduce and prevent tension in your body that often results in neck and back pain, sore shoulders and other musculoskeletal problems. These issues might be the result of misuse of your body over a long period of time, such as moving inefficiently and standing or sitting with your weight unevenly distributed.

The aim of Alexander Technique is to help unlearn bad habits and achieve a balanced, more naturally aligned body.

The Alexander Technique is taught by a qualified professional in one-on-one sessions. Over the course of several sessions, you are taught to be more aware of your body and how to improve poor posture and move more efficiently.

The lessons include observation of your movements and working with you to move, sit, lie down and stand with better balance and less strain. The teacher will use their hands to gently guide you in your movements.

Fee per session: $55 per 30 minutes.
