Since its redesign and reopening in 2020, Birdwood Golf Course has received widespread recognition from leading publications in the golf industry for its memorable and engaging course design that serves to highlight the natural beauty of the surrounding Blue Ridge mountain range. It’s international recognition as second place in the 2021 Development of the Year from Golf Inc. cements its achievement as a course to be experienced.

Course by Davis Love III

A complete redesign by Davis Love III in 2020 ushered in a long-standing era of excellence at Birdwood Golf Course.

The uniquely designed golf facilities at Boar's Head Resort include 18 championship golf holes along with a six-hole par-3 course and a putting course that is nearly one acre in size. While serving resort guests, members and the community, the course is also the official home course of the University of Virginia men's and women's golf teams.

Birdwood Golf is proud to be a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary.

The Audubon Cooperatuve Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses guides golf facilities in protecting natural resources and enhancing the environmental quality of their property. Participants work on projects to improve wildlife habitats, conserve resources, and engage in sustainable practices.
