Charlottesville Spa Policies

The Spa is currently under renovation and is scheduled to reopen on August 10, 2021.

We are excited to see that you are considering our services at the Spa at Boar's Head.  If you have a preference for a male or female therapist, please let us know when scheduling your appointment.

A robe and slippers will be provided for use during your treatments, and your body will remain fully draped, except for the area being worked on.


Spa Policies

Appointments
We recommend booking your spa appointments in advance to ensure the desired time is available for you.  To secure your appointment, a credit card number is required at the time of your booking.  

Arrival
We suggest that you arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time.  This will allow plenty of time to check in, change, relax, and enjoy all our wonderful amenities before your treatment.

Attire
You will need to bring your swimsuit and sunglasses for our pool as well as workout gear if you would like to use the fitness center during your visit.  Robes, slippers, personal locker, and towels are provided for all Spa Guests.  Please disrobe to the level of your comfort for your treatment, undergarments are not necessary, but you may wear them if you prefer.  Our licensed therapists ensure you are securely draped, always assuring your privacy.

Cancellation
Treatment times are reserved especially for you.  We kindly request that cancellations or changes to appointments be made at least 24 hours in advance for single services and 48 hours in advance for multiple treatments.  A 50% charge will be applied to your credit card for failure to follow this policy.  No show appointments will be charged in full.

Late Arrival
As a courtesy to all our guests, late arrivals will only receive the remaining available appointment time and will be charged the full-service fee.

Pregnancy & Special Health Considerations
Please notify us while booking your service if you have high blood pressure, allergies, any physical ailments, or special needs. If you are pregnant, please make us aware of your due date as that would affect your choice of services.

Age Requirement
All spa guests must be 18 or older to enjoy the spa and pool.

Electronics 
In consideration of our other guests, we ask that you turn off your cell phone or any other electronic devices before entering the spa, and leave them secured in your locker throughout your visit.

Service Charge
For your convenience, a 22% service charge will be automatically charged to your bill. Additional gratuities are at your discretion and should reflect your satisfaction with your service. 

Valuables
Please do not bring any valuables with you. We are not liable for any loss of personal property, including jewelry, even if stored in our lockers.

Spa FAQs

Who can guide me in selecting my treatments?
Any one of our spa associates are able to plan your perfect spa experience. Please call the Spa at 434.972.2253 to reserve your services.

Is there an age requirement?
Individuals up to age 16 may receive nail services (manicure and pedicure) only. For all guests under the age of 18, an informed consent must be signed by a parent or legal guardian before services are rendered. For Safety reasons, children under the age of 16 may not otherwise accompany you in the spa.

What do I wear during my treatment?
A robe and slippers are provided for your use.  Disrobe to your comfort level. Undergarments are not necessary, but you may wear them during your treatment if you prefer.  Our licensed therapists are trained to assure your privacy at all times.  

What if I have special health considerations?
It is important to notify our spa team of any medical conditions. These may include high blood pressure, heart conditions, recent surgeries, allergies, or pregnancy. 

When should I arrive?
To make the most of your spa time, please arrive 45 minutes prior to your appointment. This allows you to relax and unwind before your treatment begins.

What about my comfort?
Please notify us should you ever feel any discomfort. This can include the pressure of your massage, room temperature, or the volume of the music. We are a non smoking, cell phone free facility.  We ask that you please leave cell phones at home or on silent in your locker so as not to disturb other guests.

What if I'm late for my appointment?
Your appointment is scheduled to begin and end at a specific time. Your treatment will end at the scheduled time so as not to inconvenience other guests.

Should I bring my jewelry and valuables?
We recommend you do not bring your jewelry or valuables to the spa. Our suggestion would be to leave your valuables at home or in your room safe. We do have private lockers for you to store your personal belongings.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
If you wish to reschedule, change or cancel your appointment, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged a cancellation fee of 50 percent for the service(s). Those that do not show for their appointments without calling to cancel will be charged the full rate.

Should I leave a gratuity for my provider?
For your convenience, an 18% service charge will be applied to all spa services of which 15% is gratuity for your therapist(s). The additional 3% is allocated as a facility usage fee. Therapist gratuities may be adjusted at your discretion.
