Activities Galore! | 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
It’s important to take a break every now and then, so alongside the top-notch learning spaces, we also have an array of activities around the resort that come with your stay package. All tee times and/or Sports Club activities must be individually booked through our Sports Club front desk or Birdwood Golf.* View our entire activities offering at the bottom of this page.

Birdwood Golf Course*
Bring your putter and take a study break on our enormous putting green or our private practice area that includes chipping, putting and bunker play. Both practice areas are located directly adjacent to the clubhouse and Birdwood Bar & Grill so a cold drink and casual fare are just a few steps away. Educational Tours
Charlottesville is a mecca for historical tours and has the presidential homes for America’s third, fourth and fifth presidents – Jefferson, Madison and Monroe. Check availability for each before traveling. If you're here for multiple days, we highly suggest that you take a little time out of your schedule for a short road trip to take advantage of these amenities.

An Evening or Afternoon Out: Wineries and Breweries
Pro Re Nata Brewery: Some of Charlottesville's best amenities are quaintly tucked away in the nearby mountainsides. Take a left turn out of the resort and you're just a 15-minute drive from two of our favorite watering holes. Pro Re Nata brewery offers a family-friendly setting and some of the finest craft brews around. Check their website for live music at one of their two outdoor venues or their indoor music hall. On chilly nights, mix with the locals who have come to enjoy relaxing in Adirondack chairs in front of a warm campfire and with the towering mountains in the horizon.

King Family Vineyards: Just around the corner from Pro Re Nata is an amazingly positioned vineyard that has striking mountain views that can only be topped by the wine they serve. The winery specializes in the production of premium wines that showcase the remarkable quality of this area. King sits on the Roseland Farm and has plenty of wide open space to relax or just let the kids bounce around and release energy. Please check the hours of operation before visiting. Most wineries are closed for evening visits.

*All Sports Club activities have to be reserved by calling the Sports Club front desk at 434-972-2235. Birdwood Golf course is also open to hotel guests. To play a round, book your tee-time by calling (434) 293-GOLF.
