Blue Ridge Mountains Hiking

Explore Our Trails & Scenic Drives

Located in the breathtaking foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Boar's Head is surrounded by an extensive network of Blue Ridge Mountains hiking trails. Our trail system connects to Charlottesville's Ragged Mountain trails providing nearly 15 miles of scenic pathways. Maps of our on-property hiking trails can be found at the front desk.

Looking for a more extensive hiking experience? A left turn out of our property will lead  you to the southern entrance of Shenandoah National Park. More than 100 miles of the Appalachian Trail reside within the park, and there are upwards of 500 total miles for hiking. Boar's Head is just 30 miles from the southern entrance that begins at mile marker 105 and descends as you drive north. Head the other direction and you'll be on the Blue Ridge Parkway, another roadway full of scenic views and trails. For a full listing of national park trails, view their website.
