The Art of the Holiday Wreath

Celebrate the magic of Virginia’s holiday décor with natural elements this Christmas with an immersive, hands-on wreath workshop led by floral designer Laura Dowling, former chief floral designer at the White House.

In this festive class, you will learn the art of creating an elegant holiday wreath inspired by the season’s spirit. With a “Hunt Country Christmas” theme, participants will design their own signature wreath using natural and seasonal materials such as fragrant evergreens, pinecones, winterberries, holly, magnolia leaves, velvet ribbons and gilded accents that are all arranged in Laura’s signature garden style.
In addition, Laura will share professional tips, design secrets and inspiration drawn from her years of creating décor at the highest levels. Each participant will leave not only with a custom-made holiday wreath but also with a signed copy of Laura’s book, Designing Christmas, filled with tips and instructions for making your home festive and beautiful.
Most materials are provided, but we ask all participants to bring their own secateurs/clippers. If you have any personal décor accents or something wonderful from your garden, you are welcome to incorporate them into your wreath to make it uniquely yours.
