Winter Wander Pre-Arrival Information
If you are planning to join us for one of our Boar’s Head Resort Winter Wander nights, we’re truly excited that you’ll be here! In preparation for your “wander,” here are a few pieces of information that will assist in your journey.
A Cashless Venue
Winter Wander is a cashless venue. We ask that all guests utilize credit cards or Apple Pay for in-event purchases.
Are Tickets Refundable or Transferrable?
Tickets to our winter light show are non-refundable, and there is fee to transfer ticket(s) of equal or lesser value to an alternate date and/or time. All ticket transfers MUST be completed prior to the day of the show.
How Do I Transfer My Tickets to a New Date?
If you would like to transfer your tickets to a new date, all guests must create and account and follow the prompts on this page: Ticket Transfers
Once logged in, ticket holders can see all tickets they have purchased with that email. Click on Winter Wander 2023, and then click EDIT. You'll be able to change your date and time from this screen.
Tickets must be transferred by 11:59 p.m. prior to the event day, and there is a $5 per order change fee. No same-day transfers are permitted. Tickets are only transferrable for the current season and transfers are based on availability. Winter Wander is a rain, snow or shine event. Where Do I Go?
The Winter Wander is staged behind the main hotel at Boar’s Head Resort. For driving directions, use: 200 Ednam Drive, Charlottesville, VA 22903. Parking for the Winter Wander is free, and one of our smiling staff members will be on location to direct you to a nearby parking space. Once you arrive, you’ll see signs for ticketing and the main entrance which is located directly adjacent to our Mill Room Restaurant.
A Chill in the Air – Dress for the Weather!
It could be chilly and the majority of your Winter Wander experience will be outside. Check the weather for nighttime temperatures before you come and dress appropriately. The half-mile Wander trail is primarily flat with a cinder or grass surface. We recommend wearing a comfortable pair of walking shoes. If you get cold during your wander, no worries! Our Market at the end of your journey will have plenty of warm fire pits to gather around!
Food & Drinks for the Young and Young at Heart
The legendary Mill Room Restaurant is located adjacent to the Winter Wander trail. If you are planning for dinner, reservations are required. View our Mill Room page online for menus and reservation information.
Your Winter Wander experience will also include an array of food and beverage options for kids and adults. Food trucks will be in place for most event nights, and you can top off your winter walk at our Frost & Fire Bar in The Market located at the end of your journey. Kids and “the kid in you” will enjoy s’mores around one of our numerous fire pits on the patio of The Market.
It’s Your Time to Shine - Check Your Tickets for Your Start Time
During the ticket purchasing process, you selected a half-hour time slot, and your tickets reflect that timeframe. All guests MUST enter during their selected 30-minute entry window. Entry will not be permitted outside of the 30-minute time allocation listed on the ticket(s).
