Limitations of our Charlottesville VA Accommodations

In Coordination with Covid-19 Guidelines

In coordination with the guidelines that our Virginia state governor has established our Charlottesville, VA, accommodations at Boar's Head Resort are now open with some limitations to our normal day-to-day services. As an AAA Best of Housekeeping award winner, we are taking extra precautions for a clean and safe stay for every guest, but please be aware that we are required to have capacity limitations in many areas of the resort, and several of our services will be limited or even closed during your visit. We are also requiring masks in all indoor locations based upon the guidelines from the state of Virginia. Most activity and dining opportunities will require a prior reservation. This allows us to control our capacity requirements throughout the resort. Below is a list of areas that have modified arrangements allowing our guests to still take advantage of most of our activities and amenities. If you have not done so already, please visit our dedicated coronavirus page to learn more about how we are making your stay safe for you and our staff members: www.BoarsHeadResort.com/coronavirus

Services & Housekeeping

Upon arrival, our front desk will still have warm and welcoming smiles behind our face coverings, but we will not be offering our standard bellman services. Additionally, we will not have daily housekeeping services during your stay. We will have a process in place to receive fresh linens during your stay. You will also receive a pre-arrival email with information about contactless check-in and room entry using your mobile device.

To assure a safe stay, all of our rooms are cleaned and disinfected after each guest departs from their room.

For updated hours of operation for all of our dining establishments, please visit our our dedicated hours of operation page

Reservations are highly recommended for Mill Room dining. Please call (434) 972-2230.

Swimming Pool Availability

In accordance with the Virginia state governor and Covid-19 guidelines, The Sports Club swimming pools are currently running at a maximum capacity of 125 people. The 6 lane, 25-meter outdoor lap pool will remain open and is heated to 82 degrees.

There are no lifeguards on duty.

The resort pool adjacent to The Spa is closed for the season.

Boar’s Head Sports Club Regulations

Our sports club is open with limited hours and capacity requirements. Despite the Covid-19 restrictions, hotel guests will still have access to almost all aspects of The Sports Club including fitness, swimming, racquet sports, personal training and the basketball gym, but the rock wall will remain closed. We do ask that you bring your own sporting equipment including racquets, balls, water bottles, etc.

Current club hours can be viewed on our hours of operation page. Guest and members over 55 also have exclusive access to the fitness floor from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

To make sure we adhere to the state of Virginia’s capacity guidelines, guests are required to call to reserve their time for all activities and the fitness center. Please call (434) 972-2235.

Need child care during your stay? We offer a safe, healthy, and exploratory environment for your little ones. View our childcare page for full details.

Birdwood Golf Course

The new Davis Love III designed golf course is now open. Members and guests can book tee times in advance, and our Pro Shop will be open with capacity limits. Due to the high volume of tee-time requests for the new course, we are unable to permit single rider golf carts.  However, single riders are fine if by chance you end up teeing off as a single or as the third player as part of a threesome, but this is unlikely and cannot be guaranteed. When booking, golfers have the option to request a cart with a partition/divider at no additional charge. This partition physically separates the players when both are seated inside the golf cart.  All golfers are encouraged to wear masks when social distancing is not possible outdoors including riding in golf carts if they choose to ride/share a cart without a divider. Shared carts without masks and/or dividers are allowed for golfers from the same household or golfers that have frequent routine social interactions. Additionally, there are available tee time options seven days a week for play during times when walking is permitted as walking allows for the best from of social distancing while playing.

The Driving Range is currently open to the public with every other stall available in order to adhere to Virginia’s social distancing guidelines. All practice facilities are open with capacity limits.

For hours of operation, visit www.BirdwoodGolf.com, and for tee times, please call (434) 293-GOLF.
