Birdwood Golf Course

Built to challenge. Built to entertain. Built to love. Birdwood Golf Course at Boar’s Head Resort was built by Davis Love III and his Love Golf Design team with all three of these intentions. With a top-ranked 18-hole course, a six-hole par-3 course and a putting course nearly an acre in size, golf enthusiasts who stay and play at Boar’s Head are perfectly positioned to have it all. Birdwood is also home course for the University of Virginia men's and women's golf teams.

Take a Hike!

Unlike any other hotel property in the Charlottesville area, Boar's Head Resort is uniquely situated on 600 acres and boasts an array of plant and wildlife viewing opportunities. Guests and locals are invited to explore our trail system that meanders deep into the woods directly in stride with our Audubon-certified golf course. A stroll on our pathways will take you past a few lakes and ponds, some low-lying wetlands and even a historic cemetery.

Designed for families, corporate groups or just a couple friends looking to get out and explore our 600-acre property, Boar's Head Outfitters has an activity that's fun for all. Whether it be an on-site scavenger hunt or a guided paddling clinic on one of our nearby rivers or lakes, there's excitement to be had and memories to be captured! World-Class Racquet Sports

Ranked as a top-25 tennis resort in the world, Boar’s Head Resort is the premier racquet sports destination in the East. The club features 10 outdoor clay courts, 12 indoor courts and six pickleball-specific outdoor courts. Guests can participate in daily clinics or book personal lessons with one of our on-site pros. Squash players will be impressed with one of the best facilities in the world that has 14 courts and two exhibition courts. Boar's Head is also plays home to the University of Virginia squash and tennis teams. Go Hoos! The resort also features indoor and outdoor pickleball courts and three outdoor padel courts.
