Tennis Professional Emeritus
Ron Manilla has been named Tennis Professional Emeritus at Boar’s Head Resort. Manilla, who has been a mainstay in the Charlottesville tennis community, has been with the Boar’s Head since 1995.
“Ron Manilla’s impact to the growth of the game at Boar’s Head and in the Charlottesville community is remarkable,” said Todd Goodale, Director of Sports and Wellness at Boar’s Head Resort. “Ron is the consummate professional and I’m thrilled he will continue to be part of our professional tennis staff for years to come.”
Manilla is one of approximately 50 Master Tennis Professionals in the world and he has been a fixture in the Charlottesville tennis community for more than 40 years.
"I feel very honored to have received this distinction from the Boar's Head Resort," Manilla said. "My goal has always been to make Boar's Head the community facility that everyone would be able to enjoy. I want to thank everyone who supported and helped me along my journey. Without you, I wouldn't have been able to do it. I am very grateful."
As Tennis Professional Emeritus, Manilla will direct and oversee tournament operations at Boar’s Head Resort and serve as an advisor to the tennis professional and sports club staff.
