Serving Up Daily Clinics

Whether you are here for a quick overnight stay or an entire week, we have a daily clinic schedule that’s fit for you. Our instructors start every morning feeding balls and serving up tips to players of all skill levels. If your thrill is to hit a ton of balls, our Drills for Thrills session will certainly wet your whistle with a highly consistent level of ball feeding. For the more elite, our Advanced Play programs emulate a college-style workout that’ll leave you tired but wanting even more by the time you hit the locker room. With more than 20 weekly clinics, there is truly a session for any tennis enthusiast!

Unmatched Facilities

With 26 courts, our facility stands out as one of the Mid-Atlantic's best. Ten Outdoor Har-Tru courts are carefully maintained for seasonal play. Alongside our clay courts are an additional four outdoor hard courts with a Har-Tru sports coatings surface for year-round enjoyment. A six-court outdoor tennis stadium also resides at the resort and plays home to the University of Virginia's men's and women's tennis teams. In the colder months, take your game indoors with an additional 12 Har-Tru hard courts that adhere to the high standards of the ITA, ATP and NCAA. These courts serve as the host site of top professional tournaments and NCAA matches. All of this is complemented with locker rooms, a state-of-the-art fitness center and the convenient Sports Club café for an after-tennis drink or quick grab-and-go meal.

Consistently rated as one of the top tennis resorts in the world, Boar’s Head is also home of the University of Virginia men’s and women’s tennis teams. The men have brought home multiple recent national championship trophies. Both teams play their outdoor season on the stadium courts adjacent to The Sports Club, and their winter indoor season takes place on courts 7-12 inside the club.

Pickleball and Squash

Tennis is tops at Boar’s Head, but we also have pickleball options and a world-class squash facility. With weekly pickleball clinics and the availability to play indoor or outdoor, we truly make pickleball fun for all.

Our McAurthur Squash Center plays home to UVA’s men’s and women’s NCAA squash teams and is one of the best facilities in the world, boasting 14 total courts including two glass exhibition courts.

Golf by Davis Love III

There is a new era of golf at Boar’s Head Resort. Partnering with legendary PGA Professional Davis Love III and Love Golf Design, the resort recently reimagined the entire Birdwood Golf facility to include18 new championship golf holes. Love’s team also added a new six-hole par-3 course and an expansive putting course with both offering a golf experience in under an hour.
