Boar's Head is proud to be a top-25 ranked tennis resort in the World by Tennis Resorts Online, and was also named a Top-50 U.S. Tennis Resort by Tennis Magazine. In addition to the top-50 designation, the resort was also recognized by Tennis Magazine as the #1 tennis destination in the Mid-Atlantic region. With 24 courts, our facility is an absolute treasure for any tennis enthusiast. Twelve outdoor clay and hard courts are carefully maintained for seasonal play. In the colder months, take your game indoors with an additional 12 hard courts by Har-Tru. In addition, the University of Virginia also has their tennis stadium on grounds that seats more than 1,500 spectators. All of this is complemented with locker rooms, a state-of-the art fitness center, daily childcare and Racquets Fresh Market, which is the perfect post-match destination for a quick bite or cold drink.

Boar's Head has a well-rounded staff with exceptional tennis experience. Our pro team is comprised of instructors who have played and coached at the highest levels. In seeking the right instructor for your Charlottesville tennis lessons, you will find former USTA ranked players, NCAA collegiate players and coaches and even some with ATP/WTA tour or coaching experience. Tennis is absolutely contagious here at Boar's Head, and each instructor comes to court with a passion for teaching. Their individual personalities and knowledge of the game are at your service helping you learn confidently and enjoy the game for life.  Whether you have questions about technique, tactics, fitness or the mental game, you can find your answers here.

UVA's Home Court

The Sports Club at Boar's Head Resort is proud to be home base for the University of Virginia men's and women's tennis teams. The teams play their indoor matches inside The Sports Club on courts 7-12, and the outdoor season takes place in their immaculate stadium facility here on the grounds of Boar's Head Resort. The men's and women's teams are the elite of college tennis and typically rank in the top-25 with the men's team winning 5 national championships since 2013!
