Summer Junior Programs
Juniors hit the green with summer junior programs at Birdwood Golf! Learn and play with Boar's Head Golf Academy in an open and engaging environment.
PGA JR LEAGUE
PGA Jr League is a great opportunity for juniors to gain new experiences in golf. For those brand new to more competitive players, all skill levels are invited to learn and play on teams in a welcoming environment. Teamwork is the heart and soul of PGA Jr League. Juniors play on teams in a scramble format, wear numbered jerseys, and support and learn from one another on and off the course. Our team this year will be 13U. The in-house Championship JR League, located further down this page, is available for juniors 14+.
Practices:
Practices will take place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5-6 p.m. on both days. Practice will cover the playing format, a few different skills and prep the juniors to play as a team. Please let me know which day your junior will most likely participate in, Tuesdays or Wednesdays. (It is not required to go to the same practice day each week as both days will cover the same topic).
Practice Schedule
- Tuesdays: June 2, 9, 23, 30, July 7, 14, 21
- Wednesdays: June 3, 10, 24, July 1, 8, 15, 22
Match Days:
Matches for this season will be played against Glenmore, Spring Creek and Lake Monticello. Our team will be broken down into three-person trios or two-person pairs. The format of play is a two-person scramble with both players hitting from the tee. The best shot is selected, then each junior will hit from the selected spot and the process will continue until the ball is holed. Within the match, teams will play in a head-to-head nine-hole match. Each match is broken down into three flags. Each flag is three holes in a row and there is an opportunity to earn points at the end of each flag. If there is a team of three, then the person sitting out for the flag will rotate each flag. Matches this year will have tee times, not a shotgun start, between 2:40-3:40 p.m.

- Match #1 (HOME): June 14 vs. Spring Creek
- Match #2 (HOME): June 28 vs. Glenmore
- Match #3 (AWAY): July 19 vs. Spring Creek
- Match #4 (AWAY): July 26 vs. Lake Monticello
- Match #5 (HOME): August 3 vs. Birdwood 14+ Team
Registration:
The first uniform order will be placed on May 5. To ensure that your junior receives their uniform before the first match, please register before then.
CHAMPIONSHIP JR LEAGUE: 14+ IN-HOUSE LEAGUE
Our in-house league for our juniors 14+ that still want to participate in the fun, competitive style of Jr League, is the Championship Jr League.
What is It?
Our in-house Jr. League is a great opportunity for juniors to gain new experiences in golf. For those intermediate to more competitive players, all skill levels are invited to learn and play on teams in a welcoming environment. Juniors will create teams, play in a two-person format and support and learn from one another on and off the course.
Practices:
Practices will take place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (5-6 p.m.) alongside our 13U Jr. League Team. Practice will cover the playing format, a few different skills and focus on playing as a team. Please let me know which day your junior will most likely participate, Tuesdays or Wednesdays. It is not required to go to the same practice day each week as both days will cover the same topic.

If there is a team of three, then the person sitting out for the flag will rotate each flag. Match tee times will be from 4:30-5 p.m.
